Meeting and Greeting
After some videoconferences and communicating through the net, three teams from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania finally decided to meet and work on the project more seriously. Before our meeting a special program was prepared to developing of partnership.
Here we want to share with you our method. Why we call it “method”? Because it is a difficult work, creation and activity combined in it.
So…
Our meeting…
Making new friends is just a perfect thing. You can expend your outlook and develop your knowledge about countries your guests come from, and just get pleasure from spending pastime together.
Recently we have had such a meeting. Our colleagues came to Lithuania from Latvia and Estonia. As you can see, we are all from Baltic countries, so we had no problems with language or climate conditions.
We dreamed about getting in touch with those, who want to create a site for a long time, so to make it unusual, we invented some games.
The first game looked like this:
All the people sit in a circle. Every person says his name in his turn and shows some gestures (it can be a clap or a jump, everything you want). Every following person has to repeat and remember gestures and the names of his neighbors all the time. All the participants have to say the names loudly (showing the gestures) and finish by saying his own name. So, the last person has to repeat all the names and gestures. The aim of this game is to make visual contact. We think that we did it successfully.
The second game was as following:
All the participants stand up and start to move in any way they like shaking their hands and saying their names. When the shaking happens, the persons change their names. They are walking, shaking, and exchanging names until they find their own names. This game helps to remember the names better.
In the end everyone took two small pieces of paper of different sizes and colors then wrote on them what he or she was waiting for from our meeting and what we have to avoid. After that we all attached those notes to a big poster, one side of which was grey for notes to be avoided, the other side was bright for good wishes. At the end of our summit we could check if our wishes came true. So, it was only the first step. We are looking forward to it to be continued…
